A few minutes of feedback

When your invite arrives
Open it in four steps.
Move peeq to Applications
Unzip the build from your invite and drag peeq into Applications.
Open it once
macOS says it could not verify the app, because the beta isn’t notarized yet. Click Done.
Click Open Anyway
In System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and click Open Anyway. Confirm, then click Open.
Take the tour
peeq appears in the notch and the menu bar. The tour asks for permissions only when a feature needs them.
Why the warning? Apple notarization comes with the full release. Until then, macOS asks you to confirm once. More on Open Anyway.
Permissions
Asked for only when needed.
| Permission | Used for | When it’s asked |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility | Notifications, calls, replies, optional volume keys | When you turn on notifications (the tour asks) |
| Automation | Music, Spotify, Messages, your browser | The first time peeq talks to each app |
| Screen Recording | peeq’s own screen recordings | When you start your first recording |
| Desktop / Documents | Screenshot previews | The first time a screenshot is saved there |
| Downloads | Download progress | The first time peeq checks the folder |
peeq never needs Full Disk Access, Input Monitoring, your camera or your microphone. Every permission, explained.
